Child Safety System - Technical DetailsThe Homeguard Child Safety Window Barrier has been designed to comply with the guidance specified in Part K2 of the Building Regulations 2000 as read with BS 6180:1999. Consideration has also been taken into account of the requirements in Part B1 of the Building Regulations concerning fire safety – the barrier is removable and is fitted with keyless locks. These locks comply with BSEN 1930:2000. As an added precaution the spacing between the bars has also been reduced in order to comply with that specified in BSEN 1930:2000. Risk assessment was conducted by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in order to ensure that the barrier is suitable for the safety of children. The barrier has been tested by a UKAS accredited laboratory who have confirmed that it complies with the force levels specified in BS 6399-1:1996. Confirmation has also been received from the Fire Safety Committee that the barrier complies with their standard recommendations. RoSPA have declared the barrier to be a 'safe product'.
